President Biden is on FI-AH!

President Biden continues to hit it out of the park.
The economy is rocking, the stock market rolls on, and COVID-19 is finally looking like it's on the wane in the US (poor India).
Here's some news about how well Joe Biden is doing:
- 100 Days: How Biden Has Fared So Far On His Promises
- President Joe Biden has witnessed an unprecedented growth on Wall Street in his first 100 days in office, better than any of his predecessors going to at least Dwight Eisenhower.
He's returned to the Paris Accord, reversed a bunch of stupid stuff Turnip (sic) did, and got the COVID-19 relief package passed and into law.
Next up: Infrastructure (American Jobs Plan) and (it seems simultaneously) the “family plan.”
FINALLY, Biden's approval rating is north of 50 percent, a place Mango Mussolini never got close to approaching (always in the 30s and 40s).
Take that, ex-president Turnip!

Another Biden nominee get confirmed in a contentious vote.
The Senate on Tuesday approved Colin Kahl, President Joe Biden's pick for the top Pentagon policy job, capping the most contentious and partisan confirmation process for a Defense Department nominee so far in the opening months of the new administration.
The vote was 49-45 to confirm Kahl as undersecretary of defense for policy. Tuesday evening's vote broke entirely along party lines. He is the third Biden Pentagon nominee to win Senate approval.

One man's conclusion: Cops are stupid.
There. I said it. These boneheads have learned nothing from the George Floyd murder and subsequent trial. It's a good thing that the DOJ has begun investigating law enforcement agencies in Minneapolis and Louisville. More to follow.
Man Dies After Alameda, Calif., Police Pin Him To Ground For Several Minutes
On Tuesday, the city of Alameda, Calif., released police body camera footage of an interaction with a 26-year-old man who died after police pinned him to the ground for at least five minutes.
Mario Gonzalez of Oakland died April 19 after what police previously called a “scuffle” with officers. The Alameda Police Department said Gonzalez suffered some sort of “medical emergency” after an interaction with police.
Following criticism from Gonzalez's family, the city released the nearly hourlong video that included body camera footage from multiple officers on scene and the original 911 call. Officials edited the video to redact personal information from the caller and Gonzalez's face after he becomes unresponsive.
During the struggle with Gonzalez, officers can be seen placing arms and knees on his back to keep him restrained. In the video, Gonzalez goes still after police pin him to the ground for several minutes.

Proof some cops are stupid and/or evil. Either way, they should be forced out of their positions, put on trial, and if convicted, face plenty of prison time. They are NOT the judge, jury, and executioner. They are to “protect and serve.” That's it.

The clown car has stopped (again) in California.
OAKLAND — Running in the California recall may be the best bargain on the planet for fame and fortune seekers.
For just $4,000, any registered voter can grab an instant platform in what’s sure to become the nation’s most watched election this year — and leverage that position on social media and airwaves with some of the most attention-getting stunts possible.
State officials announced Monday that the recall has enough signatures to qualify for the ballot, three days after reality TV star and transgender activist Caitlyn Jenner launched her campaign to challenge Gov. Gavin Newsom. California is already bracing for the media frenzy that occurred 18 years ago when B-list actors and ax-to-grind residents jumped into the state’s only other gubernatorial recall.
“If you want to be famous for being famous, there’s no better way to do it than to run for governor of California — even if you have no chance of winning,” said veteran California PR guru Larry Kamer. “It’s kind of the political equivalent of running naked down the street.”

NO THANKS.

Nothing can possibly go wrong. Nothing.
California health officials announced Tuesday that the state plans to follow new federal guidelines and allow fully vaccinated individuals to no longer wear masks outdoors.
“We have reviewed and support the CDC’s new masking recommendations and are working quickly to align California’s guidance with these common sense updates,” Dr. Tomás Aragón, director of the California Department of Public Health, said in a statement from the agency.

Hear me out: I think it's perfectly fine (great, in fact) that fully-vaccinated people should be able to wander around outside without wearing masks. It's great. It gives me hope.
BUT…(You knew that was coming!)
All the dummies who won't get vaccinated (“Bill Gates is planting 5G tracking chips in the vax!” don'tchaknow?) will see all those smart people not wearing masks and conclude that they a) don't have to wear masks (“It's not fair!” WOMP WOMP) and b) who will challenge them?
Most will just go about their business because that's what sane people do. They figure, hey, good on those guys over there not wearing masks – they got the vaccine!
Except they didn't.
The “tell” will be those not wearing masks but wearing MAGA hats sure as shit didn't get a vaccine.
Mark my words: This is a clusterfuck just waiting to happen.

Good news, bad news.
First, the bad news.
Sales of cold and flu remedies in 2020 were down because (duh) people weren't catching colds or the flu. When everything shut down, people couldn't pass germs around. Well, except for the ‘rona.
Now, the good news.
Sales of personal hygiene products soared (like Lysol and bleach), as did condom sales, especially when social distancing recommendations were relaxed.
Interestingly, sales of condoms went down at first. (S)experts attributed this to anxiety and social distancing. But now people are buying condoms like mad.
I'm having a hard time not making a bunch of 12-year old jokes. I clearly failed.
